Decked Out

I met Amy, Scott, Hailey and Brody in Occoquan a little over a week ago for their photo session.  The main street was already beautifully and fully decked out for the holidays and a sunny morning put us all in a great mood.

The peeks...

Thanks for a great session guys!  Love all your baby blues. :-)

Birthday Dress

I went to photograph sweet Reilly and her brother Denton last weekend along with their parents in a holiday mini-shoot.  Reilly was ready to get a couple of shots in her 1 year birthday dress.  She was so cute - after a very brief shyness, she was excited and laughing and running.  We ended with a few shots of big brother and family.

Here is the peek...

I'll be shooting you the gallery password soon, mom and dad!

Up and Coming

Corey, Matt and Lilly met me last Saturday morning for our photo session.  Lilly was quite a busy two year old.  She loved exploring the park, climbing up and down the steps and was VERY interested in my camera.  I think these folks have a budding photographer on their hands. :-)

The peek...

I had so much fun photographing this family and especially this little girl.

More photos to come soon guys!

Sunshine Warm Upon Your Face

Last Saturday, Jackie, her husband Rob and her son John left Virginia and moved to Orlando, FL.  We had a family photo session a couple of days before they embarked on their journey.  Jackie worked at my daughter's school and her son was in my daughter's classroom.  It has been a long-time dream for Rob and Jackie to live in Florida, and I'm happy that dream is being realized,  but they will be missed.

Here is a peek from their session...

I think the Irish Blessing says is best:

May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
May the rain fall soft upon your fields
And until we meet again
May God hold you in the palm of His hand

All my best to you.  Your gallery will be up soon. :-)

Beautiful Boy

My final session in New York last week was with a 4 week old named Sawyer. He already has a spark in his eye - bright and attentive when awake and amazingly verbal.  It took a little break to coax him into the kind of sleep where we could position him and get some of those shots we all love - he just didn't want to miss anything - :-).

Here is the peek...

It was such a joy to meet this little one and to hold his sweetness in my arms.

An Actor and A Gentleman

A week ago today, I was in New York having lunch with a pal of mine, Tim.  Earlier that morning - we took some photos together.

Talented, funny and a phenomenal friend, he is one of my favorite people on the planet.

Here is just a sampling of his session...

LOVE, love, love him!

Another Sunday in the Park

Fast forward... to my second session last weekend in New York.  I met this family outside of the Brooklyn Museum and we went to nearby Prospect Park.  I had photographed the two youngest a month earlier, and this was Part II which brought in mom, dad and brother.

I just coudn't resist a couple more pics of the girls...

Here are big brother, mom and dad...

Finally - the whole gorgeous crew!...

What an awesome family.  These are warm and inviting people with lots of love and lots of personality.

I can't wait for them to see so much more of what I had the opportunity to capture.

Central Park Family Mini-Shoot

Last weekend, I went up to New York for a whirlwind three days and four photo sessions.  The very first session was a family shoot in Central Park.  In October, I had the pleasure of taking photos of the two girls and this time, we got both mom and dad in the pics.  Here are a couple of peeks...

We got some awesome weather and light for a November morning.   Thanks Charlene and Butch for having me take this second round of photos.  Loved seeing you and your beautiful girls again.

I'll have the rest in the gallery soon.

In Your Own Backyard

This past Sunday, I photographed Jeff, Circe, Corrine and Sydney.  Sometimes the backyard and a cute piece of furniture are a nice formula for a photo session - and the fact that this family is goh-oh-orgeous doesn't hurt. :-)

Here is the sneak peek...

They make my job SO easy.  Thanks guys, I'll send the password to your gallery soon.

9 Photographers, 10 Words and Endless Inspiration

This past weekend I went up to Pennsylvania for a reunion/retreat with nine of the ladies from Me Ra Koh's NYC5 Confidence Workshop (that took place last May).  Lot's of laughter, catching up, tears and of course...photography.

One of the things we did was take pictures of each other - since we hardly ever get to be in front of the camera ourselves.  Here are a few of pics I took of these remarkable women...

This is Monica, a beautiful woman inside and out, she has a soft loveliness that is juxtaposed with an amazing edgy sense of humor and impeccable comedic timing.

Hannah - stunning Hannah.  This lady is wise beyond her years.  She is full of life and has a HUGE heart for people, words and art.  The youngest of us, was often able to articulate what we all were feeling.

Jane - was our hostess for the weekend.  The passion, energy and accessibility of this woman is infectious beyond measure.  Her home is like her, warm, inviting and full of LOVE.

Marcia (pronounced "Marseeah" :-)  She brings so much fun and life to any room, and when she quiets down and grows intense - she is more beautiful than she knows.

Alicia.  Gorgeous Alicia.  She has an eye for beauty and a passion for the world.  She possesses a quiet intensity and she just...glows.

Christine.  She is powerful in her directness and "get it done" attitude.  The growth that has occurred in her life over the past year is so inspiring to me.  She is FIERCE!  But I gotta say, it's her softer side that melts my heart.

Gretchen.  You take one look at her amazing eyes and you know you are safe.  You feel like who you are - is enough.  She is gentile and creative and notices incredible details.  What a gift.

Last , but not least is the amazing Rachel.  She didn't want to get in front of the camera.  I wish we had insisted on it now. :-) You will find this beautiful brunette smack dab in the middle on the second row of our group shot below (set up by Christine).  Rachel is strong, edgy, innovative and has the gift of "vision".  A talented photographer, she took the fun photo I've added to my blog header. :-)

Thank you ladies for the "recharge".  I'm so blessed to know you, love you and have you in my life.
